What is it like to be in Gaza?    I used to feel so unfortunate to be here in Gaza. I still do.    While I was writing this piece, I went to other websites to check if it’s been 30 or 32 days since the Israeli assault began. Then I wondered if that really matters! Here I am in Gaza, a place where numbers make no difference but to media. I’m sick of watching the death toll increasing to 1904 and more than ten thousands wounded. Behind those numbers lies a tremendous…

Hi friends, How are you? Hope you are all going well. I once worked for a client on Odesk website as a translater. I did the job just perfect and got the moeny. I transferred the money to my paypal account which I created recently. The problem is that we in Gaza don't have such payment methods. It is almost impossible to use visa, master cards, or credit card. I cannot fill the spaces where I am told to add a card because simply I don't have one. Can anybody help me in this? Maybe I can send the…

With all the enormous technological progress nowadays, one can barely live without electricity. Luckily, i was born to have the stamp of a Gazan. I always wondered if we Gazans are genetically extraordinary. There must be some specific genes inside our bodies that give us this incomparable strength and infinite patience. Only this reason does seem logical to me. What else can make us bear these unusual conditions? Nothing! Absolutely nothing.   I am a senior student, studying English Literature…

Hello,         It is 8:57 PM right now. Airstrikes are still heard every now and then. However, there is unconfirmed news about cease fire deal. I really hope it succeeds. What happened till now is TOO ENOUGH.        I am HOME with my parents; that does NOT mean that we are SAFE. The situation is still too dangerous. The thing is that I got sick of being homeless! My parents and I, only the three of us, are home. Yet my three brothers, my sister-in-law, and…

No Hello this time,   Sorry but this time I will be cruel in my judgments and harsh in my criticism of others.   Let's start by the setting:  It is now 3:50 AM in Gaza. I am no longer at HOME! I left home two days ago due to massive air-strikes hit areas too close to my house. I am now in my grandfather's house, 5 minutes by car far away from my house. So it is NOT safe. I KNOW! I had no choice since Gaza is the largest open-air prison all over the world. I can not dare to think to…

Hello,   Those who concern about the Palestinian-Israei confict are, I guess, aware of what is happening in Gaza nowadays. I will post some picture with a brief comment below each one  One of Haneen Tafish's relaives bid last farewell to her. Haneen Tafish is a 11-month-old baby who was killed two days ago by Israel Defence forces, as they caled it. Yet I would call it " Israel terrorism forces". It is an appropriate title for them, isn't it?      A girl got injured by one…

Hello people,   As a Palestinian and a Gazan in particular, I would like to tell you a short story. A real one; not to entertain you nor to make you sleep fast! This short story, I am writing while attacks are near my house, is to tell you a part of our daily life.   It started when a too loud explosion wake me up as I used to sleep after spending a long day at University attending classes. I get out of the bed so fast freaking out and crying : " the kids! the kids!". I mean my little…
