Verfassungsschutz! WARNUNG: REIZWORT IN REIZWORT!! Okay..…

Keiner macht was. Und was passiert?

I was curious about what the 3544 figure actually means in terms of activity on this website, so I gathered some stats by scraping the site (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping). They are certainly not precise, but they give an overall idea. The figures are based on the numbers of comments to blog posts and posts in forum discussions, project-specific activity and event-postings are not taken into account. Posts from (some of the?) accounts with now deactivated profiles don't display any name,…

Why IOPS failed

I was slightly suprised to again find yet another mail about some poll on IOPS' future in my account. I wanted to see what happened since the last time I took a look at the site, so I did, and unsurprisingly, nothing has changed.  The issue I see with IOPS is the schizophrenic approach to participation. Participatory decision-making implies participatory development of the methods, tools, techniques and policies employed in decision-making. I have no idea how that could be anything but…

European IOPS members, please support the campaign at: http://www.right2water.eu/ Water and sanitation are a human right! "Water is a public good, not a commodity. We invite the European Commission to propose legislation implementing the human right to water and sanitation as recognised by the United Nations, and promoting the provision of water and sanitation as essential public services for all. We hope that this will encourage other members of IOPS to engage in similar…

In March 2012, the Interim International Organization for a Participatory Society (IOPS) was launched with the aim of propelling activism for winning a new world. IOPS is structured as a bottom-up, international organization based on self-managing interconnected national branches and local chapters.Currently, IOPS is in an interim stage, and by joining IOPS you become an interim member. A convention, or series of conventions, will be planned within the next year, hopefully, for membership to determine…
